interesting wildlife on the trail today
So as I was walking to the trail I heard some commotion on a roof. What you're seeing is a hawk sitting on a chimney with a squirrel he just caught in his talent. Around him you see a couple of crows but there was some Even smaller birds attacking the The hawk. The hawk was bigger than them all and I wonder what makes birds do that I don't think crows and these other little birds would eat a freshly killed squirrel or at least try and steal it from a hawk. I really don't know what's happening but it was very interesting to watch on my walk today

Today as I was driving to work, I saw a bald eagle soaring with two much smaller birds trailing it. One of them would seem to get close enough to almost hitch a ride on the eagle and then would drop back a bit. The little birds were flapping their wings like crazy to keep up. The only reason I could think of was that maybe the eagle had raided the family home and ran off with one of their children. That would make the parent birds bold enough to try to get the baby back. They were flying high and I was driving, so I couldn't tell if the eagle had anything. With yours, maybe they thought that there is strength and bravery in numbers, and planned to share in the eagle's kill.

thanks for replying. I really appreciate that someone is reading lol. I was able to watch these birds for a while. It was interested to see the crows show up and help the little birds. But, it was definitely a squirrel that the hawk had so the whole thing was weird.
