Arsenal Need An Auba Replacement Stat

Auba hasn't been great this season despite is 7 goals and being the top scorer for Arsenal this season, just doesn't tell the full story. He just seems completely out of it which makes it worse is that he is the captain and you always want your captain to start, even if he's playing badly.

The issue is, his poor conversion rate and off-the-ball running are just not up to par for what Arsenal needs and he's not getting into the right positions to score. In Addition, he also missed some pretty simple chances, and with Arsenal not creating all that much, you need someone far more clinical.

A lack of that final touch

Auba used to be a goal machine but as the years move on his slowly started to dry up, which is. shame because he is truly a great player. I've loved watching him play for Arsenal but when I see someone not in the team for his merit I call it into question.

If we look at how Martinelli and Laca are playing one wide the other in a number 10 role they do far more work and because they can't get into the positions Auba can as a number 9 they don't get the goals they deserve.

Auba is also playing as a 9 because Smith Rowe has been doing so well off the left, which is where he prefers to play. Mikel pulling him off when we needed a goal tells you all you need to know about his form of late.

I think that against Everton Laca deserves to start ahead of Auba and we can see if some time on the bench of time on the left flank can help improve his game once again.
