Arrived Saturday afternoon in Cesenatico for some holidays.
Yesterday I decided to try to learn something new.
I went to a rent and took a SUP, a stand up paddle.
In last years this sport became popular and now there a lot of models to rent.
I decided for a 11" inflatable model good for beginners (as I'm)
Unfortunately the sea didn't cooperate. In fact it was rough and windy. Not ideal for the first handshake.
Anyway, I tried at least the basics.
So I set my paddle, fastened my leash and put the board in the sea.
The first thing to do is to kneel and learn how to paddle and turn
After about 5/6 minutes I headed the nose against the current and did my first try to stand up.
A complete failure...I fell in water in few seconds...the sea moved the board and the lack of control, normal for the very first time, did the job...
I tried more and more and more...I counted 13 falls (then I stopped counting 😁) for about one hour
When the wind passed 15 knots I had to give up...
Very interesting experience, even if exhausting.
I will try, hoping in better weather conditions, in the next days
