Gosh, I wish it would rain 🌧️

While I have friends experiencing insanely cold weather and dumps of snow in North America, here in Brisbane (and right across the eastern half of Australia, I think) we are experiencing yet another yet wave.

I prefer to strategically use shade, fans, cool drinks, and dunks in the pool, but today was next level hot and I had a bunch of computer-basee tasks I wanted to get done. So... I ended up spending a good chunk of the day in my office; one of the only air-conditioned rooms in the house.

Thank Christ for air-con. I truly don't know how anyone who is older, sick or in any way frail would have coped without air-con today.

Grateful for:

  • The pool in our backyard
  • The fan above my head
  • The privacy to wear very little
  • Cold drinks from the fridge
  • And the air con Brad installed in the last year or two

While I don't think we'll get a storm tonight, I do hope we get one sometime sooner rather than later.

Thank you @new.things for the photo and your company on the still-way-too-hot bushwalk.

What's the weather like right now where you are?

If only we could send you some rain from here! I’m beginning to worry that my kayaking skills might come into use to travel around our village before too long, the floods in the area surrounding us are getting worse. So far, touch wood, they’ve not affected any homes but for farmers it’s not good news.

Other parts of the UK are having serious problems with it and lots of rivers have burst their banks.

Minus twenty Celsius in many parts of America, which is unheard of in those parts.

Keep cool. Stay safe!

Oh gosh, yes, please. We'll have a wee bit of that rain!

And I had a friend comment on Facebook that they're experiencing -30'C at their place!!!

It was unusually "cold" here today (I'm on the other side from you, we at least had some warning from yesterday which was a lovely 26C, prior to that it was 30s and is heading back to high 30s over this coming week). Are you far from the coast? Maybe swim/beach walk might have been a better option than a bushwalk unless you went at get stuffed o'clock XD

Has your pool gotten some use or is it too hot for that too? ^_^; Sounds like you got some reprieve at least!

It's true, the weather can be a mirror of our experiences, showing us the diversity of life. Your ability to find gratitude in the midst of the heat is inspiring. Recognising small comforts, such as air conditioning and the swimming pool, is an act of wisdom that reminds us that there is always light, even in the most challenging moments.

Adaptability is a powerful virtue; it teaches us to navigate the waves of life with grace. Although the heat can be overwhelming, your positive approach invites us to reflect on what we truly value. I hope those storms arrive soon, bringing with them renewal and freshness, as well as the opportunity to celebrate each season in its own time.
