My Actifit Report Card: June 28 2020

Today my organ recital premiered on YouTube. It’s definitely a lot less stress to pre record them than fighting with my poor internet connection. The result is of much higher audio and video quality anyway, plus I can chat to viewers in real time. Of course, there’s something special about live performances but it’s amazing that anyone can have a global audience from anywhere in the world. It’s hard to stay motivated when there are ‘bigger’ and ‘popular’ YouTubers in my niche. Not taking any credit away from their hard work, of course, but some days are better than others. I must remember to go on my own journey—not theirs. Plus, take a break on my terms and not feel guilty about it. It must be a natural human tendency to imitate others just like we are seeing with toilet paper...

My biggest support network is a close group of like-minded individuals and I’m grateful for that. Whilst I understand not everyone has time or the interest in my musical endeavours, it’s heartbreaking to see others getting recognition for their work (mutual friends) when I had produced exactly the same material earlier.
