A Doctors Visit & Lite Duty - My Hustle Report: October 6 2020

After spending the morning trying to make an appointment I finally managed to get one at one of the walk in clinics. Going in to have my back and hip assessed the conclusion was to go in for an MRI and ensure there's no internal damage in my pelvis.

It ended up taking about three hours to get through the clinic even after my scheduled appointment time. My entire morning wasted, there should be a better way of doing things. Between not being able to get through on phone calls and places saying they are booked solid then the overall shortage of doctors in our area and places being closed all together, trying to get into see a doctor is nearly impossible right now with this whole Covid thing.

During our waiting around in town Jerry and I went down to the Esquimalt Lagoon and watched the birds.

I ended up having to go to work on light duty. Luckily I am able to train the new guy for this week maintaining a little bit of my income though drastically short hours as he is only part time. Without that I'd be trying to work Skip The Dishes which is a little challenging in my current state.

After work I sat down and edited most of my first video in a while and posted that this morning. Here's hoping as my time seems to free itself this week I can build the momentum and turn this into a daily activity once again 🤞

I believe it’s my old injury getting worse and acting up again ... started to get sore one day then the next morning I couldn’t move without pain ... I am fighting the inflammation and stiffness right now which seems to help the most with pain ... doctor did state there is some obvious muscle deterioration on my right thigh/hip and ordered further testing ... once I am healed enough I think Physio might be required 🤦‍♂️

Sending you prayers and positive thoughts. I suffer hip problems myself in its no fun. I love physical therapy but unfortunately I've only got one more visit left I think. I only get 20 visits per calendar year.

Doing much better today, work has been very forgiving so I believe as long as I stay on track and do not injure myself again all will be well 👌

I am very happy to hear of your improvement! I am just trying to keep on top of my own home exercises to prevent going backwards yet again.. Sitting at home is not that great for somebody who has back or hip issues. At work I had a standing desk which I miss very much! I hope you keep improving and I am glad that work is very forgiving. Do you find yourself pacing around with a mobile trying to accomplish something also? Lol I am looking at raising my desk so I can kneel on a pillow or sit ... between the two I should be good 😉

I have a wireless headset from work so I try to walk around as much as call volume and work load permits. It's definitely not ideal for back health to sit all day. I try to so back/hip exercises and stretching as often as I can. I may end up purchasing a raised desk, but they are $$$. Have a good week!
