Week-long Recap + CCC Street Art -- Actifit Report Card: April 18 -- 25, 2026

Another week-long Actifit holiday cost me over 100K steps on the log as I was shredding the dancefloor last weekend in a classic spring b2b2b weekend. Last Friday, I posted about seeing the crew at a local Turkish restaurant & concert hall by the team Synchro Events. They hosted Stvsh as the headliner and we got to see our friend @vybria.wav close the house stage inside the dinner restaurant. It was surreal dancing there where I've sat for dinner before!

These kids are just spraying the tour announcements straight on the sidewalk. I'm here for it. Honesty, can't wait for this Experts Only festival back at Randall's Island (where we used to have Electric Zoo) at the start of fall. But now spring is in the air, and the artists are freshening up the walls with new pieces for the season. The black and silver in the cover shot, giving Las Vegas Raider vibes, is new artwork that replaces a work done last fall that stretched nearly the entire block. Below is another new artwork put up on this block I frequent on the way to my favorite club Elsewhere.

But the twist is that Saturday night I went down the block to Silo instead to see the dubstep legend, Rusko. The setup there is great, with a DJ booth in the middle of the venue surrounded 360-degrees by a dancefloor with a stage in the back of the room. There were some aerialists that performed on rings during Jiqui's support set, and Stvsh popped up again to go b2b with him to hype the crowd for Rusko.

He did not disappoint. He threw down classic after classic and got into it on the mic. I love when he engages with the crowd and with the 360 setup he was in fine form dancing around in the booth. I spent most of the night perched on the back stage on the rings were all packed up. It gives a great view of the front-facing crowd and ctaches a nice cooling breeze when the side door was held open (insider tip). 360 setups are great!!

Look at all those steps last weekend. The big spikes after midnight always make me giggle the way the timing works with this app. After sleeping off Rusko and watching a bit of soccer, I finished the weekend by checking in on a longtime NYC DJ Victor Calderone. I remember sneaking in to see him play in the 90s when I was in HS, so I decided get listed for his epic takeover of Refuge for the Sunday afters. With an opener from 5am to 8am, Victor held it down from 8am to 6pm with a 10 hour marathon set.

Refuge is the newish no frill, no phones, all vibes, techno spot for an older, more serious crowd. Few colorful pashminas, lots of tight black outfits. There were team after team of dancers entertaining on a side stage and on top of the speakers. Refuge did a great job of setting the scene for the music to shine and Calderone kept the dancefloor moving all afternoon! Without phones everywhere, there was plenty of eye contact and it brought me back to a simpler time when I first listened to VC playing without cell phones all over the dancefloor. Times sure have changed.

I kept up the 10K streak all through school. It's easy when I'm busting it up and down 4 flights of stairs 3 or 4 times a day. Bopping around my classroom and running school errands all over the 4th floor, it is easy to rack up 10K on a work day. On the days off it can be hit or miss. Sometimes it's 25K with dance parties book ending my 24 timelines, or sometimes it's a lazy Saturday sleeping off a hard week or an absurd adventure.

Friday was absolutely the absurd adventure, which was a shame because my dad and I were planning on enjoying some spring skiing at our family's favorite Vermont resort Killington, which features bumps on its spring trail Superstar late into the season. But sadly, instead we hit a deer. Luckily a glancing blow that caught the poor animal in stride and not quite planted, blowing off one of its legs and knocking off to the side of the road, avoiding any impact with the windshield.

Shaken, we called the cops, got the car off the highway, and got it towed to a shop in my dad's roadside network. Although we were in the middle of nowhere over 2 hours outside of New York City and getting this car towed at 9.30pm (3 hoursafter the incident), we were able to somehow find time to stop at a pub for a delicious BBQ bacon burger (a glorious warm meal) before a 10.50pm train back to NYC. Miraculously nobody (human) was hurt, but the car was out for the count. After a transfer at 12.05am, we arrived in Grand Central at 1.15 and promptly passed out after lugging our personals back to his midtown apartment.

Completely unnecessary. Poor deer. Must have been some tasty grass. I wonder if he made eye contact with my dad. Wanted to come over and say hi. So much for the spring skiing. So much for any activity this weekend. Woke up and convinced my old man to check out the classy soccer pub where I meet up for the mighty New York (Chelsea) Blues. Of course, Chelsea didn't play in the cup semis until Sunday, but we got to watch the spirited semi between Man City and Southampton. The game had some drama, but the favorites won and are off to compete in their 4th straight final. Insane stat. Just like all the steps I left on the sidelines last week.

But hey, at least it's a post. We're so back, baby. CCC street art entry on a Sunday with some Brooklyn freshies. Spring season, the vibes are high! Here's one last pic from one of my walks home to show that the brain rot is very real. Until next time...
