Actifit and COVID-19 report for Friday
For months, I've been saying that more people should be tested for COVID-19 in the Netherlands. This Friday, my wish was granted, and I was tested after having symptoms of a cold.
I felt healthy enough to go on a bike ride afterwards, though. The route was a 50km circle I which I did counterclockwise earlier this year, but clockwise this time.
Waiting behind a hay transport for a minute. That loader drives straight up and down the dike. Before they used giant plastic haybales, we used to do this by hand with the whole neighborhood...
Park Rijnauwen, the road around the fort. This is a popular place to walk in the woods. I never stop here because it's too busy, but I should try it on a rainy weekday once.
By the way, my test was negative. I received the result this morning already. I'll keep being careful, I'm always the only person wearing a mask in stores. But no, I don't think going outside was a big risk. We've learned that the coronavirus mostly spreads through small droplets indoors.

Good to hear your test was negative. I have not been tested, but then I have not felt ill since this started. I had a bad case of something just before, but I am not convinced it was COVID.
Looks like nice roads for cycling. Is there much traffic? I assume it is fairly flat.
Thanks, happy to hear you're fine too. I had a fever in March, which was probably influenza, but I couldn't get tested then. Later we learned that the government exaggerated the shortage of materials and it would have been possible if they'd made an effort. Now I wonder why I'm short of breath after a physical effort (cycling doesn't count), while I'm basically a pair of lungs with legs.
Yes, this was a flat route. And a pretty comfortable ride. Only the walkways in the park were busy. The bike lane on the dike is a little narrow at some places; I think they avoid making the road wider, to discourage speeding. The other kind of bikers love racing through these bends.
