Hey everybody and thanks for stopping by!
This morning found me headed out to Bible study. We are studying Luke and I am finding it interesting.
Afterwards, I headed to the post office to pick up the mail and headed home.
Upon arriving home, I made coffees and did a little housework. At 2:45, we headed out to hike. They were calling for rain and then they weren’t. The sky gave no real clue as it was constantly flipping from sunshine to dark rain clouds, so we weren’t sure how it was going to turn out.
As we begin the trailhead, there is a pond and about 5 apple trees. It’s the time of year that the apples are falling. Usually the deer eat them, but since the family of cougars moved in a couple years ago, there aren’t many of them to eat the apples. We have in the past, seen evidence of bear there in the fall, but not the last 3 years or so- that is until today. They tend to binge on them and poop out what I call ‘ Bear apple pie filling’!
We actually found two piles (the second one just as big). They gorge themselves and it just literally blows through them. The very first year (6 years ago) we started hiking here, there were 6 piles like that when we started up the trail, and 21 when we came back down! They were having a party that year!
@actfit-lamb and company were along for today’s hike. All were sporting new winter jackets, and @actifit-lamb had added the little hat Jan had made for her. Jan knitted hats and scarves for all 6 lambs, so they are ready for winter.
The cooler temperatures and the rain and dampness, has brought out all kinds of fungi!
They are all so unique! I love to search them out as we hike in the forest.
Tomorrow begins my workweek and I’m sure we will be busy. Gotta run!
