My Actifit Report Card: June 20 2021

Hi guys and thanks for stopping by!

The day dawned sunny and you could tell the heat was on the way! But first, it was off to church to lead worship. Jan is not only a hiking partner, but also my backup vocalist, so she joined us as well. It was an awesome time of worship together with our church family.

Once home, we relaxed for a bit before heading out in the heat for a hike. We stopped at the neighbor’s to check on the progress with the yurt.

Where was this when I needed a large playpen for the kids when they were little?!

After a brief visit, we headed up the hill. It was hot 🥵 the sun was intense. As I’ve said before, we get no build up to summer here. It’s cold and wet and then bam! It’s scorching!! No acclimating 😔☀️

We headed up to Towhee Ridge. I recently purchased this neat little backpack accessory to lift the backpack off of my back.

@actifit-lamb and company all got to come today. This kept my back from trapping heat in and overheating me. It also changes the center of gravity a bit making the pack seem lighter. You also don’t hike hunched forward. Definitely worth having. All of the lambs got to bake a little up at Towhee Ridge.

We checked back on the yurt on the way home. They hadn’t gotten much further, but the sun had been so intense, I don’t doubt why!

I made mocha frappes when we got home. It’s been a busy but nice day.

@actifit-lamb is jumping up and down on the waterbed trying to get my attention to make sure I remember to say that she is reminding us to get those hooves movin’! 🐑

Take care! 👣🐑☀️☀️☀️☕️🤗🥵🤪😁😴

Nothing like going straight from cool damp weather to hot! The backpack looks like a really cool invention! How nice not to have it directly against your back in the heat.

It was worth the $42 I paid. To get a new backpack with this type thing incorporated would have cost upwards of $120!🙀. I like the $42 price tag! Thanks for stopping by my friend, and have a lovely week!🤗💜🌻

@elizabethbit The Yurt looks like an interesting project. What are the local building codes like? If any?

Have a blessed week..........

Hey @kingneptune! The irony of the building code thing is that you cannot put a tiny house or park model on your property in our county. You can however, put up a yurt with no problem! Makes no sense to me, but them's the rules! This yurt is a 20 foot diameter; a bit small. I'm not sure how you would fit a bed, a kitchen and a pellet stove in there. The bathroom consists of an unattached, composting toilet self contained in it's own little outdoor closet. This is on a neighbor's property where this will be the son and daughter in law's home. His mom and dad have a regular house, so I suspect a lot of the essentials will be done there. It is a cool process and it does intrigue me. I'd go for at least a 30 or 40 footer!

Take care!😇

@elizabethbit Very interesting county? What about earthships, mud homes, bamboo homes?

No bamboo; maybe an earthen home or two, and earthships? Not sure about that either, lol! Take care!
