Second Vaccine Shot On Thursday - We Are Alive IAAC #470 - Actifit: July 22, 2021

On my Thursday it was quite nice weather for most of the day, and I took a walk through the park in the evening and got some nice pictures from it.
Plus I got my second vaccine shot too, Pfizer, which made me tired, with headache and a really sore arm the day after, but I am recovering.
This is also my day 52 in participation of the #POLIAC competition from @browery.

Wow, looking at your pictures from your country, it really looks like a clean and environmentally aware place. Is it this clean everywhere?
Thanks a lot Tanja, if you go look under the bushes you will see that it is not as clean all over, but most of the garbage gets thrown in the trash cans that are all around the park, and the rest gets regularly picked up by the park workers.

And there are even park cleaners... Nice!
Most public spaces here aren't as well kept, despite trying of most governments to "educate" the public. I think that if there were fines, more people would make an effort to keep the public spaces clean. Whatever you do in your own home, is for you, but not in public areas I think.
Yeah fines for litter might not be the best in my opinion, but park cleaners and also incentives to return plastic and aluminum cans works great here.

Oh and I don't know if I've already mentioned it, but there are public workers whose job it is to keep the streets clean. I only don't know if they clean them once or twice a day. I've only seen them broom and rake the streets at the end of a working day, so that's that.
By hand?
If so that must take a lot of time, the street cleaners here go over all streets once per week with machines.
I'm not even sure if Suriname has the equipment, so by hand yes 🙈. Could be that we have them, but one of the reasons they keep the system of by hand alive is to facilitate (government) workers. The biggest employer here is the government, which needs to change. If they don't start stimulating the private sector, then this will stay in place unfortunately.
Too many people working for the government is no way to grow an economy, let's hope that it starts to change.

Yup, even the elected officials know that, but haven't seen one taking it on. Afraid to lose votes the next elections. But we need to stay positive 😊.
I don't think that starting to cut away those jobs will help either, they need to start working on making it easier and more profitable to work and do business in the private sector instead, that way people will leave the government jobs for a bigger pay check elsewhere, and be happy about it.

Yeah, strengthen the private sector. Momentarily they're not even doing that. Tax rates has just gotten up and also other services, etc. they need to pay the public sector are being raised. Of course, those prices should've been increased a long time ago, but not that much in one time. Should've been gradually.
With a too big public sector it will not be attractive to work or do business in the private sector, which means that taxes will go up even more.
