Planting Trees: April 6 2020

The days are getting harder as I am worknig more and doing more. Yesterday I managed to get all 24 of my Green Giant Thuja (Arbovitae) planted an the irrigation run to each of them. The hardest part was running hte irrigation line. I had to crawl through a 3 foot tall concrete pipe with the creek running through it to run the line. It was the easiest way to get the water line under our road.

They are all nice and happy with a half gallon per hour emitter on each one. I had to make tens of trips between the plantings and the house for various reasons which really racked up the distance. The Arbs are getting watered Mon, Wed, Fri for now and may get more in the summer. The ones next to the road all got a handful of osmocote fertilizer to help since the road bed material is pretty shitty.

My biggest worry has beenb the deer coming and decemating them so todya I got them covered in fencing.

I am super anxious for them to get all super huge so we have a year round screen from the highway.

I have a tree order due any time and will be planting trees also. No fun crawling through a pipe running with water...
