My Actifit Report Card: December 17 2020

I passed through the city center, and it was strange to see how many people are in the streets in a random Thursday morning. Possibly it was crowded because it's Christmas time, and people are rushing to the latest purchases, but I did not expect to see so many people, really.

However, it was also a beautiful day, so many could possibly just decide to walk instead of driving, as I did. Anyway, I got at the meeting point pretty early, so I enjoyed the waiting standing in the sun. While waiting, I read some news about a new plausible lockdown in #Italy, during the Christmas holiday. President Conte should be giving his speech either tonight or tomorrow, but there seems to be all signs of an actual move from the Government in order to prevent the Country from a new trend of infrections; the World Health Organization, as I read, warned Europe about the emerging risk of a new wave of infections in the first weeks of 2021, which is exactly what we were warned about regarding the second wave that occurred this Fall. Our Governement, I gotta say, knew the second wave was coming, and did nothing to prevent the population and all the workers and companies from suffering from all the consequences of it. Indeed, in Summer, when the Government should have worked and studied a strategy to safeguard Italy from the dangers of the Fall wave, instead left the population free to do whatever, with no restrictions. Reading about another lockdown happening in #Christmas times doesn't make me angry, rather it makes me hopeless, as if no one knows what we're doing and where we're going because of the #pandemic. It's a global disaster the Italian Government specifically isn't doing enough to solve.

Fortunately, time was up and I stopped reading the news that I rarely read precisely because it makes me depressed. So I went to my beloved Alessia and Elisa, President and Vice-Precident of bluAliké, one of the organizations I collaborate with. Ours wasn't really a work meeting, rather a moment to say Merry Christmas and to meet up in person, since it's been months now that we only have been working from remote, on Zoom calls and WhatsApp messages: I love working from remot, but nothing's better than spending some valuable time in real company, in person.

So we had lunch together and then I helped them with packing up the sticker albums I personally designed for them, as they are going to give them as Christmas gift to all the girls and boys of the team of bluAliké. Such a lovely idea!
Then, they gave me also a Christmas gift: the full bluAliké kit! I was so happy to receive it, and they also gave me one of the sticker albums, because I really cared about having one as a memory of the work I did and am still doing for them. They know how passionate I am when I design and work for them, so they nicely saved a copy for me.

After a little bit of chatting, I collected all the gifts and began my long walk back home.
