Plan = rest day? Reality = Toughest workout in December!... my training diary entry from December 26 2025

(Here you can see an interesting cloud pattern that I noticed a few days ago on a morning walk.)
Hi Actifitters,
Christmas is over and I am happy that I did not escalet too much in terms of food and alcohol. To be honest I had some beers but not too much. And the most important thing, I kept doing my sports on a daily base.
After being unsure yesterday whether I would even do any sport, I can now report that I trained really hard yesterday. It started with pull-ups, followed by side crunches, dumbbell rows and three variations of dumbbell curls.
Between each exercise, I did my steps. The whole thing took a little over two hours. Afterwards, I had a protein shake and a few minutes' break before heading out on my indoor bike for a tempo session. I warmed up for 10 minutes before hitting the pedals for 35 minutes at 180 watts. After another 15 minutes of cooling down, I got off the bike, thoroughly drenched in sweat, and looked forward to a hot-cold shower.
Before I forget, here are my pull-up numbers.

After a restful and sufficiently long night, my fitness levels have recovered surprisingly well after yesterday's hard workout. So there's no reason not to train again today. On the agenda are two variations of push-ups and a long session (nearly two hours) on the bike. You can read about how it went in tomorrow's report.
