Overload vs. Fun - and the winner is: FUN... my training diary entry from February 12 2026

Hi Actifitters,
yesterday I rode three Zwift routes again, including the climb of the week. It was only about 4 kilometers long, but when you're constantly going uphill, your thighs really start to burn.
The other two sessions were less strenuous, and I tried to keep my heart rate relatively low. In total, I cycled 43 kilometers yesterday.
Before jumping on the bike, I warmed up with some core stability exercises and stretching.
Although I had a far too short and restless night and my motivation to train is already at rock bottom, I still want to do a round of Zwifting today. First, however, I have to wait for the bicycle mechanic, who will make some final adjustments to my gear shift on site.
In the afternoon we will go to Regensburg, where we will visit friends with whom we plan to hike up the Großer Arber in the Bavarian Forest tomorrow in heavy snowfall and stormy conditions. This could get adventurous.
