Subbed in a Kindergarten classroom- long day. I’m not enjoying all of the technology used in the classrooms these days. Sometimes I can’t login to the correct place. Anyway...I’m longing for the good old days of school with much less technology and no face masks!

what technology is being used?
Well, they do a lot of their lessons online after watching an information video. In other words, they practice on a chrome book and turn in their work that way! There are also links to websites that I click for them to watch on the video screen in the room. This has all come about because of the pandemic! A year ago they would have only done a short amount of time on a laptop. I would prefer to read them books and ask them questions. Also the reason I had so much trouble getting started with the day is the school didn't tell me the correct place to login! Have a great day!
Very pretty roses! I don't understand really, why kindergarden needs tech. It seems to me that they could save that until maybe the 4th grade or so. I have heard that they aren't teaching cursive writing anymore in schools, but I don't know if that is true.

Well cursive handwriting was starting to go away in our school district, but now it is back! They learn cursive handwriting in 3rd or 4th grade and then still practice in 5th grade! I'm so glad, because I tell the children that they will be able to read old letters from relatives who might have died a long time ago. Also read cursive handwriting on old documents! Anyway, the pandemic has forced more kids to be on chrome books or laptop computers at younger ages just in case there is another shutdown. I don't think that is necessary what with all of the ways they know how to treat COVID-19 infections in people now. The doctors know so much more than they did in March! Have a good weekend!
