Case history: A patient with acute abdominal pain || IAAC #22 || Actifit report and a win||

Hello, there! How are you? How is everything going on around you? Hope that everything is happening according to your plan and expectation. I am also fine, Alhamdulillah. This is my 22nd #iamalivechallenge post, the project run by @flaxz. This is also going to be my today's @actifit report.
At first, I am going to share a case history of a patient with acute abdominal pain. Following that, I will mention why I am grateful for today. And finally, I am going to share the proof of today's win. Hope that you will stay with me until the end of the post.

Case history

Today morning, one Bangladeshi patient came to my chamber with severe acute abdominal pain since last night. He also vomited approximately 20 times since the pain started. According to him, he passed motion twice last night but it wasn’t diarrhoea. He last passed a motion at 3 am. Till then he didn’t pass any motion or flatus.

I examined him. He was distressed with severe pain. He had generalized abdominal pain but more was in the centre and upper abdominal area. He had features of gas distended bowel loops. His bowel sounds were very sluggish. His blood pressure was 140/80 mmHg and his pulse was 100 beats per min. Surprisingly, he had mild dehydration.

It was a suspected case of subacute intestinal obstruction (obstruction in the gut). I told them (he came with his sponsor and one of his friends) that he needed to be treated in a surgery department. On Friday, usually, specialists in private settings take weekly off day. For non-Omani patients, a government hospital is not a good choice. The sponsor agreed to take him to another city where a multidisciplinary private hospital was available. However, it would take several hours. So, they wanted something to relieve the pain. I gave painkillers, anti-vomiting injections and intravenous fluid. I also gave an emergency referral letter. Then they left.

Why am I grateful for today?

I am grateful to my creator that I am alive today.

I am grateful to Allah because haven't suffered such type of abdominal pain in my whole life.

I am grateful to my Lord because He made me a doctor.

Alhamdulillah!

Here is the proof of a win. It is a project run by @wil.metcalfe and @adventureready.
