Hello, everybody! How is everything going on around you? Hope that everything is happening according to your plan and expectation. I am also fine, Alhamdulillah. This is my 26th #iamalivechallenge post, the project run by @flaxz. This is also going to be my today's @actifit report.
At first, I am going to share a case history of a lady patient, reluctant to do the PCR test. Following that, I will mention why I am grateful for today. And finally, I am going to share the proof of today's automaticwin. Hope that you will stay with me until the end of the post.

Case history

In my previous post, I shared one case history of a conscious patient (@jlufer called him a responsible person) who willingly wanted to do the PCR test. Because he didn’t want to be the one who would carry the virus to his older parents. However, yesterday, I got another lady patient, who was also an Omani. Her understanding was completely opposite to that of the previously mentioned patient. I am going to share her case story.

She visited me with the complaints of loss of smell and taste, dry cough, cold, headache, malaise and body pain. Her cold started almost 1 week ago. The loss of smell and taste, along with other symptoms were new and started 1 day prior to this visit. More importantly, she had a history of contact with a confirmed COVID19 case. For the cold, they weren’t worried. When she lost her smell and taste, her husband sent her to the doctor (however, she came alone).

I told her (and she had her own suspicion) that the chance of being a COVID19 case was very high. Although her symptoms weren’t severe, for the confirmation, I suggested her to do the PCR test. But she refused to do the test. She was afraid of putting the stick (swab stick) to her nose. Also, the health insurance wasn’t covering the cost for the PCR test. When she came to know about the price of the test which was 22 OMR or 57$, she made a comment. “I would rather by milk for my kid with the money than spending for the test”

I am habituated with these scenarios. So, I wasn’t surprised. I asked her to do at least one CBC test which was, by the way, covered by the insurance. She agreed and the report came which was consistent with a viral infection (?corona, maybe). I gave some symptomatic management.

Why am I grateful for today?

I am grateful to my creator that I am alive today.

I am grateful to Allah because I had the milder form of COVID19.

I am grateful to my Lord because He made me a doctor.

Alhamdulillah!

Here is the proof of an automaticwin. It is a project run by @wil.metcalfe and @adventureready.

After being treated like a prisoner of war for the last year, I wouldn't be paying for the test either, so I cN sympathize with her there. You wouldn't get a cent out of me after I paid taxes for a full year of lockdown, that sure as hell better be covered by the federal government in Canada if they don't want to get sued.

We all are fed up. We all want to return to our normal life. However, the virus exists. And, people are dying due to the virus. The methods of tackling the pandemic vary from country to country, government to government. Sometimes, we are forced to accept something, which suffocates us. But, what to do? We all are hopeless and helpless.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your opinion.

I, we, had a milder form of COVID19. My son had a fever which stayed only one day. I and my wife had some malaise and myalgia. However, we stayed in complete isolation for 2 weeks.

@hafiz34 - I am all agreed with you that the pandemic is being handle differently in each country. Today in my country we found only 59 domestic new cases of Covid-19. Normally will be an average of 150 new cases for the second wave since Dec 15. This has been proved to me that what we all sacrificed in term of our normal life brings us the well situation today. From your story that is great for her to take at least the CBC test. So she will be notified if anything goes wrong.

Have a great day. Be safe, be strong and be healthy.

Thank you very much for your opinion. I appreciate that. In Oman, the rules are quite a bit strict but people have accepted the rules and regulations. So that the death rate and new cases rate are far better than in many countries. The whole world is in crisis. We have no options other than following the things which can save as many people as possible.

Thanks again.
