My Actifit Report Card: May 25 2025
Photo of Hasina's bedroom. Taken today. I took it on my camera while looking around after an urgent meeting at Ganabhaban. I stood there silently with my eyes closed for some time. All alone. I heard, "This country is my country, my own country. This country was liberated by my father."
Suddenly my sanity returned. I kept wondering why we get excited when we hear stories of distant history. We are overwhelmed when we hear stories of the destruction of Nimrod or Pharaoh. But we do not understand that we are flowing through such a watery history. We do not connect ourselves with the history and lessons of this event. As a result, we easily forget and become arrogant. We are once again immersed in the ocean of mistakes.
That is why the Almighty Allah says in verse 10 of Surah Hud that when the danger passes, we become arrogant. Yet, we do not realize the severe consequences of pride, even when we see it with our own eyes.
