Today I went for a bike ride with my room mate. We are fortunate enough to have this amazing new track near our home. It was just built by the mountain; and incidentally by three of our friends. As we biked up the road, I observed that the gate was open, which suggested to me that our friend was still working up there.
As we pulled around the corner to the bottom of the trail, I saw his distinct blue Suzuki and saw him getting ready to go home outside the driver's door. He was yet to load his bike and agreed to go on a ride with us. Before we even set off, another friend of ours came down. This was rare, as we only saw 2 other people the entire time we were there; and I am often here without seeing a soul.
The trail is for the most part complete, and what they are currently working on finishing is this adjacent climbing trail. They've completed about 80% of it, and I have to say, it is amazing. It takes absolutely zero effort to climb back up to the top of the track.
After several loops on the track, I eventually decided to bike home and my room mate followed. Our friend who we caught getting off work was already long gone, as was the other friend who met us. I was pretty proud of my biking progress; it's something pretty new to me. Trail riding that is; I rode bikes plenty as a kid. But I'm finally feeling a lot more comfortable with pretty much all aspects of it; not to mention much more in shape.
I finished the day off skating in an old unused tennis court near our house. I believe it was taken out of use to become an additional parking lot for the business; however I think it might have been a bit ambitious because I have never seen their main lot full. However, I guess it's not exactly "peak season"; especially with the pandemic.
Here is something I managed to do on a separate ride :)
