A night adventure - Actifit: August 26 2020

I’m not going to use the photography tag for this post like I usually do because these are not good pictures. They are here to illustrate my story, not because they are good pictures!

To preface this story, I will just say that it’s a good thing my husband loves me.

So I went walking tonight and was at the park until past dusk as you can see. Several things happened while I was there, which I will share in a moment, but the result of those things was that I discovered when I returned to my car that I did not have my key in my pocket. Uh-oh!

Next I will tell you what happened.

As I was walking along one of the trails in the dusk, I tripped over a tree root. Of course I went flying! Well I picked up my muddy self and walked some more. And when I later discovered that my key was missing, I assumed it had fallen out there.

I had my husband come to the park and we spent half an hour searching through the tall grass and weeds along the trail for my keys (in the dark, with flashlights), but they were nowhere to be found.

I considered returning the next day with a metal detector!

We walked back to the car , and that’s when I remembered I had made a “pit stop” during my walk. Fortunately, I remembered the location. We went back to that spot, shone the flashlight, and there was my key in the grass, right where it would have fallen out of my pocket.

Embarrassing but true story!
