Fields of pink - Actifit: September 14 2020

I went out for a really nice walk tonight at the nature preserve and saw some interesting wildlife. I didn’t take a ton of pictures because it was getting dark and I actually ran into some friends and walked with them for a while.

But before it got too dark for pictures, it was beautiful.

Something about the particular light tonight, or the fact that fall is coming, gave everything a pink tinge.

I saw a family of deer and a cute little garden snake. I also heard an owl calling. Only one of the deer (a teenager) posed for me.

Wait, deer? You mean they're not wild ones? No one will hunt them? You don't live in the City @jayna? Why did I see the beautiful nature there?

Hi @mrnightmare89! Let's see if I can answer your questions. Where I live is called the "suburbs." It is a place outside of the city by about 10 miles. We have everything we need here, like schools and stores and services, but we're not in the city.

We have woods, ponds and natural areas all around us, which means we have deer, foxes, turtles, ducks, geese, etc. Generally when any construction and development happens here, they are required to keep wild space for animals and habitat, and for people to enjoy nature and the outdoors.

If anyone wants to hunt deer, they need to get a permit and go to areas where hunting is allowed. It is definitely not allowed here where all the people are!
