Historic day for the U.S. - Actifit: January 6 2021

It was an insane day, very honestly. I got all of my steps by doing house work while intently following the aftermath of the riots and unrest on Capital Hill - which I watched moment by moment as it happened.

Four people died during the storming of the capital. This is tragic. It didn’t have to go this way at all. I feel strongly that our president has been completely delusional and irresponsible. Delusional because he can’t accept the outcome of a fair and democratic election that has been verified by all authorities involved. Irresponsible, because on the morning of the electoral college vote counting, which is basically a formalizing of the known results (not an opportunity to try to make things go a different way), he continued to shout out to the people who have blindly followed him that the election was stolen and that he won by a landslide. And his attorney said the election should be contested with “trial by combat.”

This mess is squarely on their shoulders. It is harmful, disappointing, and horrible in so many ways.

And on top of all that, any terrorist organization that was watching this go down now knows that it’s easy as pie to break into our government buildings. All you need is a mob and something to break down doors.

I am saddened and embarrassed for our country.
