Creeks and ducks and sunset - Actifit: April 1 2021
I took a long walk at the park, alone. It felt good after a stressful work day. The paths in the woods were muddy from recent rains so I stayed on the big main trail, which can be very scenic.
There are two creeks at the park, and they are pretty now that the ice had melted and they reflect the sky. The ducks are quite happy to swim and splash around, too.
It’s exciting to see the marsh coming back to life. It looks brown, I know. But the wildlife is coming back. There are a few blackbirds and a bullfrog or two, in addition to the ducks and geese.
Just a month ago the creek was solid ice snd I was walking on it. So it’s amazing to see the rippling water and smell the aromas of the marsh.
It was quite cold, so there were very few people there. As the days warm it will be busy with dogs and walkers and cyclists.
For now I love those times when I mostly have it to myself.
This seems to be a permanent sign, even though the trail is only under water a portion of the time.
It was getting dark. Time to go. But the end of the day and the sunset on the water were quite pretty.
