My Actifit Report Card: April 28 2025 - Exercise Snacks For Strength and Health

So what the heck is an Exercise Snack? That's what I said when I saw this video in my YouTube feed. The title talks about a Snack to add Years to your life. Ok, I like snacks! So I had to watch this 5 minute video from popular health diet and exercise YouTube personally Dr. Rhonda Patrick.

Dr. Patrick explains an Exercise Snack is a movement you do for just 1 or 2 minutes using just your body weight. You can do lunges or squats or sprinting up stairs. Get up off your butt 3 times a day and do one of these things with enough intensity too get your heart rate up. The benefits are muscle building and a reduction of your chances of getting some bad diseases.

Watch until the end where Rhonda and the crowd she is talking to all get up and do their squats for a minute. Look at them bopping up and down! 😃👍

for the day was varied. I started with a trip to the food store.

(And it they don't go empty in 2 weeks as predicted, well then at least you prepared and you're well stocked if something other than tariffs screw us over in the coming weeks or months.)

Anyway, so then I did the exercise snack thing twice during the day. My Snack consists of 10 lunges with each leg, then 12 squats holding 20 pound dumbbells in each hand, then 15 dumbbell curls.

So nothing above moved my actifit number on my phone since I didn't have my phone on me for them.

Then at night I walked; are you surprised? You should not be, if you read me, because I walk every dang night, don't I? 😄

It was a very nice night out. Cool air, not humid. But I didn't go that far. I thought I heard a dog down one street I generally walk on, and you may recall that I've had to run from dogs before on occasion. So I didn't go that way tonight. Just 5K number even though I did more movement that wasn't tracked.
