Bean a Long Day (Sun 18 Jul 2021)
Photo: The long beans hanging from the arch trellis at the entrance to my garden.
Other than a stretching session in the morning, all my activity today is from homesteading chores including a long time in the greenhouse and garden. I don't have an efficient watering system set up so a full watering involves a lot of trips from the well or the rain barrels and hand watering everything. It takes a while but it gets me loads of exercise and Vitamin D so I'm not complaining too much.
Finished up some laundry, added wood chips to the coop, topped off the chicken's water, and gave them a few treats. Then I took a walk up front for another hour of cleaning in the vacant house. Took my old broom with me. It promptly broke. At least it wasn't my good broom.
This evening I'm back over at my part-time live-in nanny/housekeeper job. Brought over a few zucchini, a cucumber, a bit of okra, and lots of beans from the garden. Good eating for the week.
