I played an eighteen basket disc golf course with my son this morning. The round was going pretty well until hole eleven where my son threw a roller.
It did not get to the ground fast enough and came down at a shallow angle. We both saw it land in a line of trees but lost sight of it and did not see it come out on either side.
From the way it was going I thought it would come out on the left so I was looking mostly on that side. On the left side is some more tree and an open field and on the right side it slopes down towards the river.
We spent a long time searching for the disc but never found it. Rollers can go in variety of different places and can be hard to track in the woods.
After that we were both pretty disturbed and I was not sure if I wanted to continue the round but my son wanted to so we did. My score was kind of average for what I do on the course at a four over par.
In the evening we played again with three teams of two players. (Six people total.) We tried to do eighteen holes but it was getting dark so we had to skip the last two holes.
It is really hard to see the baskets and throw right when it gets dark. My depth perception gets bad and I can't tell how hard to throw the discs.
It was a very fun round though and I aways like to play on teams.
Here's a few pictures of the artichokes:
The bees have been happy with them.
They are a bit small but the heart is worth eating. We had a few of them at dinner tonight.
