My Actifit Report Card: September 6 2020

I played a game of disc golf with my son and was joined by one of my friends on the first tee. It is always fun when someone you know joins up unexpectedly for a game.

The three of us played really well and we were all scoring very nicely and making good throws. My son was winning up until the last hole where he tried to do something fancy and take the "Simon Lizotte" line up and over the trees. It almost worked but came down short and on the second throw he threw it right into a tree trunk.

Not recovering really well on the hole he ended with a double bogie and both my friend and I had birdies. I ended up winning the round by one point on an interesting finish.

I've found a couple of discs recently and since it has been a few days since trying to contact the owners about them and not hearing anything I've started to toss them around. One of them is a 150 gram DX Orc. I thought about trying it out on the infamous hole eight by the river but my son thought it would be way to flippy.

I was thinking since it was a speed 10, glide 4, turn -1 and fade 3 flight rating it would be something like the Boss, Destroyer, Wraith line of discs since they have the same numbers on a faster speed. Boy was I wrong.

Luckily my son talked me out of trying it on hole eight. It probably would be swimming with the fishes again back in Davy Jones locker from whence I rescued it a few days ago. (The river was low so I waded out mid way into it to retrieve the disc.)

I ended up trying to throw it about a couple hundred feet on a spike hyzer line through the trees. It completely flipped over and turned into a forehand roller and ended up on another holes fairway. I ended up making par on a pretty good recovery throw but needless to say, that was not what I was trying to do off the tee.

I almost immediately put it in my "do not throw" pile along with my other too flippy for me discs but I might give it another chance or two. I'm not really sure what I'll do with it though. The combination of the DX plastic and super light weight is not what I'm used to.

This is one of the places the puppy and I visited yesterday on the long walk:

I remember this as being a pond the last time I was walking in this area. It might be just the time of year but all of the water has dried up and some flowering plants were growing there.

Here's another picture of the puppy with the toy cooler on this head. He seems to like doing this a bit too much and it is really tough to get the cooler off his head.

It is a pretty tight fit:

Until someone gets a bit more cooperative about having things done to him perhaps it is best to hide the toy cooler for now.

When I read the sentence where you said he liked to put his head through there a little too much and it was a tight fit, I immediately thought "I'd put that thing away then"......then after the photo, you said that is exactly what you were doing.

The puppy is a really a character. I've never experienced any pet that loves to growl as much as he does. (Hopefully this will change a bit as he adjusts more.)
