My Actifit Report Card: September 8 2020

It was really smoky this morning when my son and I headed out to play disc golf. We almost turned around and went back home but we were planning to play the really difficult NSRA disc golf course. Actually by the time we got to the course and got out of the car the smoke was not too bad in the forest. The trees seemed to freshen up the air a bit.

Right off the first tee my son threw a drive into the out of bounds area. Luckily it was not too hard to find but it kind of got things off to a tough start.

We ended up missing a lot of throws and searching in the grass a lot. They had just mowed and marked lines for a recent tournament so the course was in pretty good shape but any time you go out of bounds in tall grass it can be a real issue to find the disc.

We ended up finding three discs while looking for ours and two don't have any contact information on them. We were really fortunate to get all of ours back.

I think I scored around twenty over par. My son ended up deleting the score card. Actually for this course the scores were not all that bad based on what the recent tournament scores were. It is a really hard course that is not very forgiving if you miss your lines.

It was basically in nice shape except the last hole was mostly unplayable off the pro tee because of the trees blocking the view. Without spotters it would be dangerous to make the throw because you can not see the field at all and there is a walking path that could come into play if someone had a really strong throw. I think they either need to do some tree removal or trimming or change the last hole to play from the drop zone area.

There are not a lot of fires close by but the wind has been blowing the smoke in from other areas.
