It was pretty rainy today but raining light enough that my son and I went out for a few holes of disc golf. We almost played a full eighteen hole round but my son needed to head to class. My son was doing really well the first nine holes and I was struggling a bit. On the second nine holes I did really well and my son was strugging. We ended with about the same score.
I was wearing a rain coat that I usually don't wear and the cuffs were fitting very loose and getting in the way a bit on throws. Towards the end of the round I figured out that I could tighten them up a lot and it made it easier to throw.
I could not find a distance driver that would have just the right amount of controllable flip.
Because of all the struggles today I was really missing my Sword disc that I lost in the river. No doubt my problems were more from the wet weather and jacket but I remembered how well that disc flew for me. I ended up ordering another one tonight. They seem to me kind of hard to find right now in heavier plastic. I settled for a 164 gram disc, I hope it will be stable enough. Sometimes it varies a lot between manufacturing runs and the disc I ordered may not fly the same.
The Whippet disc that I found a few days ago, while looking for my lost Sword disc:
I put on it a couple of leaves that I collected recently and had pressed under the salt candle.
I have been really liking this disc recently, it works great on a forehand flick throw. On backhand it is okay too but I don't use it so much that way. At first I was not so sure if I liked it.
