I rode my e-bike down to my favorite disc golf course this morning. It was pretty cold and I had on a couple of layers of cloths. There was no water on the road today and the course had dried out enough so that all the holes were playable.
My friend and I started to play and were soon met with another friend. The three of us played a couple of round of eighteen holes.
I was doing okay today with a +2 and +1 score on the rounds. My putt was feeling good but my forehand flick throws were all coming out too far to the left.
It never really warmed up today and I stayed a bit colder than I like from cold e-bike ride in. I think I throw better if I stay a little warmer. I kept putting my gloves and hood on to keep warm.
The plastic discs are stiffer when cold and change grip a bit. I've even heard that they can crack if hit against trees when really cold. I thought about putting some kind of warmer in the disc golf bag but it probably would not be worth carrying around the extra weight.
Maybe someday we will have discs that automatically warm themselves up from a battery or something when they are too cold.
I'm planning to head out to the pro disc golf course tomorrow so it might be another longish day for me. Usually the course is bit easier to play this time of year when it is not overgrown as much.
Sunrise this morning:
Another 24 hours. Each morning I get out of bed and say to myself, "this is a new day, I vow to go through it in mindfulness."
