My Actifit Report Card: March 6 2021

I did a lot of work on the house and out in the yard today. I got a bag of sixty pounds of concrete and mixed it up to fix the issue with the crawlspace door.

Hopefully it will last a bit longer this time. The first time I fixed it I put a board in place to allow me to put the concrete in kind of level. The original builder had put a short piece of metal in by the entrance and it would not go down to level of the hole cut in the foundation.

This time I mixed the concrete kind of dry and sloped it down from the metal to the house foundation.

Here's is the problematic board that was chewed through by the invaders on their way into the crawlspace:

The orchids are opening up more and more:

Those rats burrowed under four feet of concrete, through rocks and a board to get to rat Valhalla. There must be something about all that pink fluffy nesting material and warmer than usual conditions and freedom from most preditors that drives them on compulsively.

What I don't understand is why generations later they are still at it. It is almost like some kind of religious edict programmed into their brain, "Legends speak of a perfect place, it is warm and fuzzy and cozy and you will get there if you only just believe..." LOL.

The rest of my steps were from chopping back the blackberry hedge. This is a really good time of year to cut a lot of it back.

Maybe I sound a bit harsh but actually I like all the little furry critters. I just don't like them in my crawlspace.
