My Actifit Report Card: July 25 2021

We played the difficult NSRA disc golf course this morning and the easier 18 basket course by the river in the evening. The scores were high on both courses because of the wind.

My son lost two discs at NSRA. One was on this hole:

HIs Firebird disc flew into the rough over by where you can see our packs off in the distance. We searched for some time for it but could not find it. It is especially tough to find things this time of year because of how dense the ground cover can be.

I managed to stay in the fairway most of the time except the hole I almost always throw out of bounds on. I'm not sure what to do there but hopefully I will figure something out before the tournament in a few weeks.

Besides the wind it felt like I was throwing well. I like getting some practice in the wind but I always seem to do a lot worse with my score.

Looks like he missed the basket by a big margin... #griplock... OB ... #strokehim.. 16k is quite a day.

It is a bit of a tunnel shot with brushes and trees all along the right side. I've birdied it before with a turn over backhand but usually it fades out into the brambles on the left. That's a harsh miss to have. The easiest line is to throw an overstable disc forehand and have it fade into the clearing thirty feet below the basket. It usually plays for par but my son's throw did not fade back because it went too high in the wind.

We did manage to get the disc back today when some dog found it. Got to love those dogs ability to sniff things out.

I hate those tunnel shots.. they look so easy then BAM double-bogey

Twice in the same round is no fun for sure.

I'm such a cautious player that I don't lose as many discs. I don't score as well either, so like all things there are some trade-offs.
