My Actifit Report Card: January 3 2022
It was a bit windy most of the day but in the afternoon my son and I decided to go play an eighteen hole round of disc golf. The course was just a bit wet in places and it was pretty windy. (Not Wyoming blow over sem-trucks windy at least, lol.)
Yesterday's wind and rain has melted off all the snow and the disc golf course was in nice shape:
That disc to the left of the basket is my drive. It was possible to try to run it but with the wind I decided to lay it up. I didn't want to have a basket strike and have it roll down the hill.
I ended up winning the round with a +4 score to my son's +10 score. We were both wearing heavy jackets and struggling a bit with the conditions.
It was great to be out on the course today. I feel a lot more energy and it was nice that the snow melted.

Does your son ever beat you?
He usually beats me on courses that longer distance drives are helpful on. With that said, sometimes his longer distance drives get him in trouble, which was a bit of a factor in today's game.

It’s been a few months since I played. Where are you based out of?
I can pretty much play year around, except when it snows and sticks on the ground. It is not much fun to play in snow for me. We are in the Pacific Northwest kind of close to the ocean so the weather is milder than it is farther inland.
Gotcha. Sounds awesome. We have some nice courses around here that I just don’t get to as often as I’d like to.
I mainly go when I am with my cousins which happens less frequently these days. But I love it.
Ever play night diff golf? Played when visiting my cousin in Charlotte. It’s madness!!! lol.
I have not really played at night much, just when it gets dark near the end of a round. I have a few glow discs in the bag that work well at night and they are fun to light up before throwing when it gets dark. I don't see too well at night like I used to though. Glasses help a little but I usually don't have them when I need them, lol.
Gotcha. We attached these little LED lights that are fairly bright, although if the disc falls in a pile of leaves or something, it can be a challenge.
Glad you got a chance to get out for a game.
I like that photo where there is the one evergreen dwarfed the other tall bare trees.
It did feel great to be outside for a change. That little evergreen does catch a few discs on occasion if you throw the inside line on hole sixteen. It is far enough away from the tee so I don't think it hurts the tree any.
Of course I think you were after more of an artistic reply on the little tree, lol.
ha ha ... I figured it was unintended for the little tree to be the focus, but it is what caught my eye and I liked the contrast.
It's really good to have snow melted. The place looks pretty.
It was great to be out on the disc golf course again. I had been walking around inside the house for some time and stuck in the car driving a lot recently.
Now the environment is beautiful. You are as talented as your son. Congratulations to both of you for playing golf.

Thank you too. Usually our scores are a lot closer and when my son is playing well he scores much better than I do. It sure is fun for us both.
