Clearing a certain patch of grass and weeds, I came up upon a lucky little oakling. One of quite a few in our village yard, it probably grows at the same time waiting for me to find a place to move it to where it can grow free and old.

Great! :) Similarly, I found a small fig plant (wouldn't call it a tree yet, as it still has 4 leaves only) growing between the pavement of our patio, probably seeds dropped by a bird. Now I have to decide if I want to deconstruct the pavement to move the figgy somewhere where it could actually have future.

Well, I was surprised but I have a more than a year-old fig tree growing from a fig stick I just put in the ground after removing it from the parent tree some fifty meters away...
As to the oaksies, I need more land. To make a forest or something. I don't know, I'll count them again next spring. To early to boast.
