My Actifit Report Card: January 10 2021

Today’s hike was hard on me. We left later than we usually do, I forgot my hat and wore a scarf instead, and my glasses kept moving around.

To top it off, I had oatmeal for breakfast- usually I have fruit before a hike. The oatmeal was sitting in my stomach 🤪

Two problems here.
The scarf was way too hot for today and I totally overheated. And the scarf wasn’t holding my glasses in place and I kept Switcher between close and far vision. Bifocals - that is all I am saying to that...

In short- I bunked.

Changing glasses, taking off the scarf, and a nice breeze helped.

But the last hills were a bit of a challenge.

My coping when climbing and things getting difficult is too count steps. Helps to keep the mind from wanting to stop the misery.

Interestingly - well, interesting to me- when the going gets really tough, I find myself counting in German 😄

I am fine after a shower, some food, and lots of herbal tea from the garden.
