Connecting yam to poles

Two days ago, I posted my journey to the forest in search of connectors for my yam farm, I was unable to upload some pictures to enable my friends to have a look and a feel of what it’s all about.

Well, it’s farming season in Sub-Sahara Africa, Nigeria to be precise. I ceased the opportunity of this pandemic lockdown to engage in little farming for sustenance. I really appreciate God for strength and for nature that response to our cultivation.

My Actifit count reached over 12k from my activities inside my yam farm, today I wrapped up the connecting processes; connecting yams to their poles. From the picture above, you could see the bamboo connectors used in directing yam to follow the bigger poles which are also bamboo trees but bigger ones.

Hope you can see how it’s done from the picture above, this is just our way of tending to yam, this is not a commercial farming but just local farming anyway lol 😆 but I tell you, farming is a good adventure if one can really follow the dynamics; it yields much gain its unbelievable.

Now that nothing is moving in my country, no inflows and outflows of money, and no business, more like economic meltdown, but I see what I do now as a way of survival in this critical time. Thanks for coming around, I hope you enjoyed my today’s activities.

I’m happy that coronavirus has indirectly made me to take another turn which I consider adventurous, and most importantly, I’m able to help others through this, I have other poor farmers and their family working at my farm for their daily bread at this pandemic, it’s not funny what people are passing through especially in countries with mismanaged economy like mine.

I’m pleased to take pictures with my new friends at their settlement, some of the children are born and raised inside the farm settlement, don’t worry I’ll upload the pictures when I have stronger internet coverage.
