Some damages at my farm ๐๐My Actifit Report Card: June 27 2020
Troublesome neighbors and their goats ๐ at my farm.
Justice is crucial in any system that must grow and succeed. But in my case, itโs one of the things we hope to see one day in my country. One of the challenges of farming in West Africa is this damages being caused by livestock especially from cattle ๐ and goats ๐
We have huge amount of cattle rearers in Nigeria; especially from Fulani tribe. Some of these men do allow their herds to tramped across peopleโs farmland.
The ugly and sad side of this evil is that when such happens, one doesnโt get justice from the government. This Fulani herdsmen has immunity just because the political power of Nigeria was handed to them by the British that colonized Nigeria.
They do as they like; killings, rapping, etc. and no justice at the end of the day. How do you obtain justice when even the president is from the same tribe. This is a country that some individuals are more powerful than the rule of law.
Iโve not been feeling fine for some days now, for this reason, Iโve not been at some of my farms. But as I tried to visit some to see the look of things, I found some damages caused by goats from goat rearers.
I took these pictures as evidence of the damages sustained by my crops, Iโve warned the owners of these livestock, and will report to security services on Monday for awareness.
These are the fresh droppings from the goats, all these are evidence on my favor.
Normally what we do most times is fencing, we do fence the farm lands again these livestock, but we protect cows ๐ mostly not goats.
This picture above is the kind of fencing we do to protect cows from our farmlands, thatโs me in the picture doing stick fence for a hectare of farm where I cultivated maize. But such fence becomes high that goats can penetrate the farm. I hope that this incidents will soon become a story of the past so that people can farm their lands without fear of losing their investment to other farmers.
I hope you enjoyed my post and the mixed feelings and experience of farming in West Africa.
Thanks for your support.
Stay safe
I am sorry @maxdevalue, that you are having these kinds of problems. I know how important it is to have the crops reach maturity. It's a shame that people don't keep their livestock on their own property. I will pray for justice to be served. You did well with your 9750 @actifit steps today.
