I rather replace my refrigerator than trying to fix it. Here are my reasons:
Few days back, my refrigerator stopped working fine, and I invited the engineers that works on cooling systems.
They checked and confirmed that it’s as a result of a leakage somewhere which they’re not able to pinpoint as at the moment. They charged us N25, 000 fiat currency which is nearly $60 to fix the fridge. I didn’t pay them the money though.
My Fear
I’m standing on the fence regarding their advice and assurance that it’ll be fixed, I’ve told myself that it’ll be better for me to sell the bad refrigerator at an auction price and then add more money and go for a new fridge again.
I can’t be 100% sure that the fridge will work fine again after being fixed and I wouldn’t want a situation where I’ll keep spending on that fridge.
Today I met a vendor that deals on fairly used goods from Europe, and the two freezers in the picture above were taken from their shop.
I like one of the freezers, this time I rather go for a fairly used refrigerator than going for new one from China. Fairly used items coming into the country from abroad (especially from Europe) are more durable than most of the new ones coming from China.
Our importers due to bad economy and quest for materialism do import substandard goods into the country, it’s sad!
Please let me also hear your advice. We’re truly in a perilous times when raising funds are very difficult. Good resource management is required now; so what do you think; should I go ahead to try fix my bad refrigerator or should I dispose it and go for another one in good state?
Thanks as I anticipate your candid suggestions.
