There’re challenges that we face which the government can solve, but they careless about the complaints

Agriculture has been our way of life in Africa. This is how we secure food and fight food shortages.

It’s an honor to have found myself here in this platform and in this community; though a farmer, this place has given me a platform of expression.

Today, I was fully engaged in my farm activities. I went early with my workers and some of my family members to the farm.

We’re able to cover some plots out of a hectare of land that I leased for this year’s farming.

Challenges facing us as crop farmers

There’s this clashes between livestock farmers and crop based farmers in Nigeria which the government plays deaf ears to.

The picture below was taken from my farm today which shows the clearer picture of the conflict on interest between crop based farming and cattle rearers.

The herdsmen parade all over the country with their cows for food, and while such patrolling happens, they end up destroying farms.

The government on their side, instead of bringing policies that will prohibit the destruction of farm crops from cows, their are busy watching and enjoying the battle ground between farmers and herdsmen.

We do farming here, and I cannot afford to stop it knowing that farming saves lives. But we’re being careful for killer herdsmen.
