My Actifit Report Card: February 13 2024 - Goodbye, Carnaval

The last laughs echoed through the crowd - yet another colorful carnival had come to an end.

This was hardly the moment for soul searching, even though 40 days of reflection loomed on the horizon.

We celebrated the last hours of the day, savoring each and every dance, embrace, and toast.

A champion's feast, complete with fries (pleasure now, penance tomorrow - a classic pattern of Lent).

The sound of glasses clinking filled the room; each empty glass was evidence of the bartender's roaring business (at Є2.60 a pop, no less!).

My glass, however, remained stubbornly full - dancing and merrymaking demanded full participation, and I wasn't about to stop until the clock struck ten.

With heavy hearts, we walk sadly towards the village's symbolic statue, bathed in the soft glow of a nearby church.

It was time to bid farewell to the revelry, the shared joy painted vividly on our faces.

A breathtaking fireworks display illuminated the night sky, our final hurrah before returning to the familiar hum of daily life.

7,000 to 11,000 steps - each one a testament to the joy of these past few days.

Back to laptops, back to routines, back to (admittedly) fewer steps.

But the spirit of carnival lingers, a whisper urging me to push my limits, to seek new adventures, to elevate my personal "step level" beyond the ordinary.

But first, some much-needed sleep.

With a laugh, these were thrilling days, and healing is just around the corner.
