Ogród na dachu. A garden on a rooftop. [PL/EN]. My Actifit Report Card: July 18 2021

Na dachu Biblioteki Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego znajduje się… Ogród.

[EN] There’s a… Garden on the rooftop of the Warsaw University Library.

Biblioteka UW znajduje się na Powiślu. Charakterystyczny zielony budynek znany jest wszystkim studentom. Z boku budynku znajduje się ogród, który niezauważenie wchodzi na dach Biblioteki.

[EN] The Library of the University of Warsaw is located near the Vistula river. The characteristically green building is well known to all students. At the side of the building there’s a garden which goes up and spreads on the roof of the library.

To bardzo przyjemne miejsce. Z dachu biblioteki możemy podziwiać szeroką Wisłę z Stadionem Narodowym na jej drugim brzegu, widać zarys Starego Miasta z Zamkiem i Katedrą. Mamy oczywiście również widok na Śródmieście z Pałacem Kultury i wysokimi biurowcami na Woli.

[EN] The gardens are a very pleasant place. Being on the rooftop of the library, we can see a vast panorama of Warsaw’s landmarks - the skyline of the Old Town, the city center with the iconic Palace of Culture and the broad Vistula river, with the National Stadium on its other side.

Podoba mi się sposób w jaki ogród i budynek stanowią jedną całość. Ogród pełen jest zacisznych zakamarków, pasujących do charakteru miejsca.

[EN] I like the way the garden and the building form one harmonious entity. The garden has a lot of quiet spots, fitting the library atmosphere.

Ogród sam w sobie nie jest jakoś spektakularny, Dużo zieleni, sztuczny strumyk i oczko wodne, tunele oplecione winoroślą. Ale zachwyca kompozycją i umiejscowieniem.

[EN] The garden in its own right is not a spectacular one. True, there's a lot of green, a stream and a pond, tunnels under vines. What makes is so special, is its location and composition

Wejście znajduje się od ulicy Dobrej (wjazd na parking podziemny). Wstęp jest darmowy, ale ogród jest zamykany na noc.

[EN] The entrance is from Dobra st. (next to entrance to the library's underground parking lot). No admission fees. The garden is locked for the nights
