Getting ready for serious winter hike. My Actifit Report Card: January 21 2022
The snow blizzard that @bucipuci reported from Czechia hit also southern Poland. The Meteo station on Mt Śnieżka noted wind blowing 194 km/h yesterday. Of all Meteo stations on Earth, it was the strongest reported wind on that day!
The wind brought snow and low temperatures to Poland. That doesn't deter me from hiking. In preparation for tomorrow’s mountains trip, I have done two things. First, I bought snow chains for my car and spent some time practicing how to put them on. Not a big deal, but I am glad I practiced in the comfort (and warmth) of my garage. I’ll be ready if I have to put them in snow and freezing cold.
Second preparation was making energy snack bars. Want a recipe? Much easier than putting snow chains for the first time ;-)
A low step count will make the day for my today's @poliac opponent. Good for them. I am #Alive and to be #AliveAndThriving tomorrow in mountains, I did need to do the prep. Going to bed early, tomorrow will start at 4am. Cheers!
#MAcFiT update has been posted in the @C/MAcFiT community (Leg 1 of Consolation Cup Semifinals and pre-qualifiers for the next Season).

Too bad about the bad weather, but at least you could focus on making the snack bars instead, enjoy your weekend and stay !ALIVE

stayed alive and had a fantastic hike in snow under my boots and more coming from the skies almost all time. Driving in those condition wasn't that much fun, be we did return safely home.
Good luck for your hike, it seems you're prepared for pretty much anything. Snow is usually fine, rain would be painful. Anyways, have fun!

and snowy hike it was, a lot of the white stuff, both on the trail and roads.
I didn't need to use the snow chains, but my homemade energy bars were very handy and my party of four devoured them and we had a successful hike. Two actually - 10km, 30min drive and 8km.
Nice! Went for a short hike with snow too here, but nothing comparable to your usual mountain hikes.
