Yesterday was the hottest day we’ve had here for a while. I underestimated the heat when I went out for a run at 9:30. I intended to run further but felt a bit stifled so I shortened my route. Note to self - go earlier (before 8am) or later (after 5pm) next time.
Later mrshill and I took a walk to Red Leaf beach, situated between Double Bay and Rose Bay. When we arrived we noticed a ‘no swimming’ sign. Bummer! A sewer pipe had cracked so it was deemed unsafe for swimming. Sigh.
We noticed what looked like a beach a bit further back in Double Bay - closer to home. Also known as ‘Double pay’ for the price of real estate in the area, we had no idea it had a beach. So we walked back and had a couple of quick dips in the seaweed-infested waters (at least it wasn’t sewer water). Apparently it’s not seaweedy all the time so we’ll definitely try this beach again! Anything to avoid the walk up the hill to Red Leaf.
Spring walk - I took this in the botanical gardens on my run.
