My Actifit Report Card: Slovenia - June 23 2025
Having completed our long drive across France, Germany, Austria and a little bit of Italy into Bovec Slovenia, I was grateful not to drive at all yesterday. We were reunited with the rest of the group who had flown, hired cars in the capital including my wife. The more experienced and confident members of the club took to one of the higher sections yesterday. I was still rather tired and only took a few photos.
Later in the day we took a walk in one of the valleys, which I videoed sections of. Those I’ll share when we get back home next week. No WiFi here, so I’m sending these over mobile data. I’ve got roaming but still need to keep within certain limits before I get charged the Earth.
I love the Alps. Bovec is only 454m but is surrounded by the Julian alps that are 2864 at the highest point, Mount Triglav and we can see that from our apartment, it still has snow on the top.
We are going to a section of the river today that is ideal due those of us who didn’t want to the challenging section yesterday. The water is more or less flat and we can get in some nice easy paddling.
This place is breathtaking! I’m hoping to go back slightly slimmer!
