My Actifit Report Card: September 2 2025
I must confess that I’ve been lacking recently in terms of activity here and in general. The summer has been relentless and for someone who has to be careful of the sun, it’s been a bit of a challenge.
Let’s see if I can do one of these posts each day again and record some better step counts too.
I’ve out weight on. I must get my act together.
I’m being stern on myself! I need to be.
So yesterday we went to the gym for a short session and will go there 2 or 3 times a week.
This morning I’m doing a circular walk before work and shall return to this habit.

That circular walk before work is a smart anchor for the day. Pairing it with two or three short gym sessions should stack quick wins fast, and the scale will eventually stop being a drama queen. Maybe keep a couple shaded routes in rotation so the sun doesn’t bully the plan. Do you track those loops by time or distance?
That’s the plan to take a walk before work, especially as I work from home full time. When I do go into London, where the office is, I walk from the station to the office.
I measure both time and distance, the latter often being more important to me.
Focusing on distance makes sense. Do you use a watch or an app to map it, or just go by routes you know? A simple daily minimum, like 2 km every morning, builds a streak fast, then add a slightly longer loop on cooler days. On London days, you could pick a station that’s one stop earlier to sneak in extra distance without eating much time.
I track using my Apple Watch and Strava from time to time. I find the native Apple tools are enough for my needs.
I would just say don't be too hard on yourself, it's no easy keeping up with it and having so many other things in your life. As long as you're showing up from time to time it's growth
