Trip to memory lane?

It sure feels like back to the past... when Actifit appeared on Steem and I got so excited about the project! I remember how often I used it and I believe it was my first ever delegation on the blockchain. And now that I think of it... it's been months since my last actifit post! Why? Honestly... losing faith on the project. Which is sad, because the team behind since dynamic enough to make things work, but after all this time, I just feel it came to a halt. At least, in what I believe a sports tracker should be. Take for example, my workout today.

A bicycle ride to work and back. Roughly 24km. Activity tracked... barely 10k movements. Until gps tracking is a reality, I can't see a future for Actifit. As for the sports part, this was the ride's view, following the shoreline.

Although actifit can't track my afternoon activity... I went to see those cool waves a lot closer!

The weather today was awesome, and you forget how cold the water is after the first seconds! To top up a surfing afternoon... we got to be presented with awesome sunset colours!

If I am overly critical and we do have good news for the app future, let me know! I would love to be proven wrong! 🙂

Beautiful pictures! Excellent job with your 10086 @actifit steps! Have you considered a Fitbit? It has GPS tracking and then you can sync your actifit app with it. Have a good night!

Thank you for the feedback! I do have fitness trackers, I usually use a TomTom watch; the disappointment comes for actifit can't be used as a stand alone app, at least for my goals.

Hmmmm... that's strange. But maybe that's more of an Android problem than an Actifit one. Android keeps killing the apps in background to save memory unless you explicit configure it not to do so.

Nope, it's an app "problem". The way it's built, in measures movement; so if I'm riding in a smooth road, the movements count will be a lot less. It's the same with running with a long stride and walking with baby steps: you get a far bigger workout running, but a lot more actifit count with the baby steps walking. That's why as a "fitness tracker" I feel it as a disappointment so far; as I said... hope I'll be proven wrong in a future! Cheers and !BEER

You need to stake more BEER (24 staked BEER allows you to call BEER one time per day)
