Hello everyone 👋,

Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. Its yet another 24 hours to be grateful for 💯, so are you getting used to the new year😹, it's four days in. I have had a great day and as it draws to a close am raring to go with my stepping activities and also share what's trending in the media streets. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
I kicked off the day with a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. It was a beautiful sunny 🌞 morning as I made my way. I did enjoy my walk and was back indoors an hour, thirty minutes later. I then rested for a while, caught up with emails, watched the news and then the usual chores around the house.
My next stepping came later in the afternoon going to the shopping centre for some groceries. Still a beautiful sunny day as I made my way. It was nap time when I got back indoors, I woke up some time early evening and got on with the cooking, watching a little bit of news and youtube .
Next came the evening or sunset walk, it looked like it would rain but it didn't and I made it back home safe and sound. Now let's quickly look at what has been trending in the news today.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, most people are back to work.
Globally, US trending as republican Kevin McCarthy failed to secure a majority in the house for a fifth time🙀. Political shenanigans as about twenty hardline Trump supporters are not budging. It's an extra ordinary circumstance as house business cannot be conducted without a speaker. Let's wait to see what happens next.
Across the pond in Ukraine, Russia blamed soldiers' unauthorized use of phones that made the Ukrainian army locate their military base 😹.
President Zelensky has said Russia are planning another huge recruitment of conscripts.
Over in Asia the Philippine president is in China for bilateral talks with his Chinese counterpart. Multiple deals have been signed to deepen relations and cooperation in many fields. Back in the Philippines, nearly 300 senior police officers were forced to resign to cleanse the force of corrupt officers involved in the drug trade.
Not far in Myanmar, the ruling military has released over 7000 prisoners on independence day.
Finally, WHO had accused China of under representing severity of their covid outbreak 🙀.
