Qualia- What do you mean?

How do you describe the smell of the ocean? Can you describe the taste of your favourite chocolate ice cream that you can die for? There are some basic notions of small things that we have in life which is hard to describe in words. Meaning, words are not enough to describe all we can feel. There is a limitation.

Qualia is the word that defines your conscious experience. I find it fascinating to come across this word. I always thought I did not have enough words to describe my experience when I was anxious. But, it seems there are certain things you cannot describe whether you are native speaker or not. I like this word.

Being with my almost a year old son all day is difficult to describe. It is not Qualia of course. I can describe all the details but that would not be ideal for this blogpost. Things like peeing and pooping. I will stop right there.
