60 Days of Summer

avatar

I went outside in the evening today and suddenly realized the Summer has ended for
the year 2020 and I did not go to a provincial park this year. Typically, the Summer
season for our family in Toronto is the time to go for weekly picnics. We used to pick
and choose one of the Ontario provincial parks and visit. Our selection criteria used
to be the farthest to the closest park from our residence. It was very systematic and
would not raise issues/disputes in our family. By the way, the family here means my
wife and I :) I had to come up with this brilliant idea to avoid going to Niagara Falls
every other weekend :P

So, this year is almost done (weatherwise). Today, it was not chilly but you can smell
Fall in the air. It was very crispy and you almost need a thin outer layer if you want to
remain cozy while walking outside.
I did not run after that 10K last weekend. This weather reminded me to prepare for
another running streak for the Fall season. Who knows, I may go for another 10K
next month?

Stay safe

It’s indeed a sad time in some ways to smell fall in the air. It’s also kind of funny that people who don’t live up here in the northern climes will think we are nuts for smelling fall. We can definitely smell it!
For us, it’s the smell to signal the picking seasons! Hopefully peaches next week among other delicious apples and stuff.

Ditto. I was saying the exact same thing to my wife while we were out in the evening. I am more pumped about the morning chill and less sweaty runs to be honest :) Fall photography and apples are the next two favorites.

I thought the same heading out today, although nice it felt a little autumnal this morning. I don't mind too much as although I love summer I love cold crisp days...although that's something we tend to not get too much here. Wind and rain seems to rule!

I like crispy cold days too but not when it is dry and drops down to -15C. Toronto winter is long that lasts from October to April. I wish the Fall would linger until Christmas 😀

Until recently I worked with a fellow Brit who had move to Canada. I loved talking to him during the winter months and he'd explain how it had got much warmer and was now only -5.

Yeah. It depends where you are and where during the winter you asked about the weather. There are places in the west coast where it is relatively warmer than the east coast.
